Ceiling Light / April 17, 2018 / Brooke Allen.
When it comes to lighting fixtures for homes, there are a couple of considerations that you should check-out prior to buying a particular type of lighting fixture. Each part of the house required a different kind of lighting item and this mostly depends on how much of the room you want illuminated and the size of the room or area where you want to add lighting fixtures. There are elaborate chandeliers for living rooms and your formal dining area; and there are also spot lighting items for your work area or your kitchen counter. For the most part however, homeowners choose to go with flush mount ceiling lights.
Brightness: The brightness of the lights is an extremely important factor. It should provide enough brightness to your bathroom to get enough light in all the corners of the bathroom. Single or multiple lights: When choosing multiple lights on the ceiling lights you know that it will provide enough brightness, but sometimes too much light is really too much. If you want to do single lights, I will advice you to put a few single lights up in different parts of the bathroom. So you'll need to sit down and think carefully how much light you want to have in your bathroom.
So now that you know how to make sure the width and hanging height of a ceiling light are proportionate for your room, there is one more thing to consider when it comes to ceiling height. Understandably, if your ceiling is very high, although you may make sure that your width and hanging height are correct, if the light is too short, it will look silly. So, what to do...although common sense may be the simple answer, there is a formula or rule that is often followed in the design world for this too. The height of the actual fixture should be approximately 2 1/2\" for every foot high the room is. If your room has 8 foot ceilings, the fixture height should be a minimum of 20\" in height.
Ceiling lighting, whenever used by itself, is often aesthetically displeasing principally because of pendant fittings. For the reason that, in good sized rooms, they are more likely to produce unflattering and unforgiving dark areas. All the same, if complimented using table lamps, floor lights, and wall light, ceiling lighting can develop into part of a harmonious, attractive lighting scheme. There are lots of versions and styles of ceiling light, that you are sure to obtain something which is likely to harmonize with the home decor, no matter if that interior decoration happens to be traditional or contemporary.
